AdSense Niche Selection

In this video, Joel Comm starts off by saying he pronounces “niche” as “nitch”.  (I do, too.)  But whether you say “nitch” or “neesh” or any other variation, you need to select great niches!

Joel says you should ideally choose a niche that you’re actually interested in.  He says if you do that, you are genuine and they will be more likely to follow you and come back again and again.

He says you should build a quality site first, and put AdSense on the site later.  He also mention that you can add other monetization methods in addition to AdSense, and I think this is critical.  Never put all of your eggs into one basket, as they say!

In this video, AdSense guru Joel Comm answers some of the questions he gets asked most often.

He answers a question about how much the various ads on the page might bring in, and whether ads should be placed at the bottom of the page.

He answers another question about whether Azoogle ads are compatible with AdSense.  Joel responds that Azoogle are not contextual ads, so they are perfectly compatible with Adsense.

Another person wanted to know how to figure out the best places to put AdSense ads on the page.  He says if you visit his website you can find out the answer to this.  He has a bunch of free videos that explain this and many other points of AdSense.  Definitely worth checking out!

This video is so long I can’t possibly describe it in a quick summary.  At over one hour long, this is a fascinating video featuring AdSense legend Joel Comm and AdWords insider Simon Leung!

Although this is mostly an entertaining video, there are a few cool nuggets of information you can get from this video.  I watched it once all the way through, and then let it run a second time while I was working!

This is a really cool look into the lives and businesses of some of internet marketing’s most respected and well-known gurus!

Banned from AdSense?

What would happen if you were banned from AdSense, or if AdSense suddenly shut down their program?  It may seem unlikely, but stranger things have happened!

Would your business survive?  What would you do if you lost your AdSense income tomorrow?

This video gives you a few ideas for alternatives that you can use in the event that you lose your AdSense account, or if for some other reason you need to replace that income.

This video focuses on using private advertising to bring in consistent money.  He also touches on referring people to programs like pay-per-post programs for a commission, but he seems to think that private advertising is the way to go.

I think everyone should take the time to develop a backup plan to replace their current income sources, their current traffic sources, and their overall business strategy.  You never know what can happen, and a good backup plan ensures survivability.

One Million Per Month With AdSense?

Today it’s time for a little fun.  This particular video isn’t particularly useful.  In fact, it basically shows how easy it is to fake a video of an AdSense account or another account.

In fact, if you watch closely, he even shows you that the video is fake.  You can tell from the comments that a lot of people aren’t very observant, and they seem to believe this video is real.  But the creator obviously isn’t trying to fool anyone, because of the HUGE hint he offers to its fakeness.

Can you spot the big hint he gives you?  Watch carefully!

This is proof that you should never believe anything you see online without doing due diligence.  No matter how careful you are, there’s always a chance you’ll get scammed, but use some common sense and you can decrease the risk of being the victim of a scam.

Gavin Stephenson gives some excellent marketing tips in this 7:24 video.  One of the most important points is the fact that you should be spending around 80% of your time seeking new traffic.  I agree.  I think too many people spend time building new sites or working on other stuff, and not spending enough time on traffic generation.

He also says that you should spend only 1% of your time at stuff like reading emails and other tasks that aren’t so important.  This is very important, because there are a million little things that can suck up your time.  You can’t let this happen to you.

Gavin gives some very good tips for managing your time, as well as some clever little marketing tips.  I like this video.  It’s a little “fluffy”, as he spends time talking about spending time with your family and getting enough rest, but the helpful nuggets make it worth it.

Choosing a Profitable Niche

This is a really helpful video.  In it, Travis Sago of “Bum Marketing” teaches us how to choose a profitable niche.

Travis talks about some ways to find profitable niches.  He says love and health are always going to be big niches.  He also says that people who are in transitions like moving, finding a new job, having a baby, going to college, getting married, and other life transitions are also typically very good niches to target.

Travis brings his own very popular ClickBank product (The Magic of Making Up) into the mix by mentioning that relationships are a very good niche.  He says this product has a phenomenal gravity, which means you can make a lot of money with it.

Yes, this particular video is very self-promotional, but there are some great nuggets of wisdom here for choosing very profitable niches.

How to Make Money on Craigslist

Learn how to make money on Craigslist.  This video gives you some very cool ideas for making money on Craigslist.

This one isn’t so much a step-by-step system as it is general tips, but there is some very helpful information here.

I do occasionally use Craigslist myself.  There are two main reasons to use Craigslist:

  1. They have enormous traffic, so you can get an ad in front of thousands quickly, and for free.
  2. They have an amazing PageRank, so posting a link on Craigslist can get a page spidered quickly and ranked well.

I do NOT recommend spamming Craigslist.  Users are VERY quick to report spam, and you can get banned after just a few problems.  I recommend carefully using the site to post judicious links and helpful information.  If you do, your links just might survive.

Create a ClickBank Hoplink

In this videos, you will learn how to make a hoplink that you can use to promote a ClickBank affiliate product and earn money.

The video is very simple, easy to follow, and shows you step-by-step how to create your ClickBank hoplink.

If you aren’t promoting ClickBank information products, I highly recommend doing so.  They have phenomenal profit margins, and you can make $10-$200 or more per sale instead of a few cents or a couple of bucks in commission like you might through Amazon, eBay, AdSense, or many other types of affiliate programs.

Joel Comm on Website Content

Joel Comm uses this video to discuss the kind of content you should be creating for AdSense sites.

Content creation is one of the most vital parts of creating AdSense sites.  One viewer wanted to know if poems and short stories could be used, and Joel says pretty much any written content would work well for AdSense.  He says as long as you have original content, it can be monetized with AdSense and other income streams.

Joel says you should be posting original content on a regular basis.  You can post pieces of a short story or novel online to get people coming back over and over, like a soap opera.  This way you can keep making money from return visitors.  Very cool stuff.
