Ok, please don’t watch this video if you don’t have a lot of time to WASTE.

Seriously.  Don’t.  You see, this video sucks.  It’s nothing but a massive promotional video that is full of spam with absolutely NO valuable content whatsoever.

So why have I posted it, then?

Well, there’s a method to the madness.  I want those of you who are using video marketing to see what kind of video you should NEVER create.  This video has no value whatsoever, and it isn’t likely to get as much traffic as it could if you spent the same amount of time creating valuable content.

As you can see, this video has a lot of fancy effects and transitions.  A lot of time obviously went into this video, but the creator could have spent half the time to create a fantastic video that would have received a lot more traffic!

I notice that at this moment the video has 7,725 views, but it has never received a single rating.  It’s no wonder… it’s not worth watching!

I honestly hope you haven’t wasted time watching this video while hoping to learn about social network marketing, but it does teach a VERY important lesson about the kind of videos you should never make.

Bum Marketing Video

Travis Sago is the person who coined the term “bum marketing”.  Basically, bum marketing is article marketing, which is the process of using articles you write to get traffic to your affiliate products for FREE.

He talks about how to choose a product on ClickBank, and how you can market that product using bum marketing instead of paying for traffic like so many others do.  He shows an example of how you can use bum marketing to get a link in Google, sometimes even above the merchant’s own website!

Travis points you to his site for more information.  I’ve used his system myself, and I can tell you it DOES work.  (Plus, it’s free)

In this video, a woman named Lisa talks about some of her favorite traffic tips.  She talks about the importance of using effective marketing over just blasting out any old traffic methods.

Lisa says she was contacted by someone who accused her of holding back her traffic “secrets”.  She said the guy had a website for months and wasn’t getting any traffic, and he was very frustrated, and he claimed she was somehow keeping her best secrets back.

But, as she explains, her main site had been around since 2002.  Back then, marketing a website was easier and very different from the way it is now.  She said back then Google was very new, and the main technique to get into Google was to get listed in DMOZ.org.  Of course, it’s MUCH hard to get listed in DMOZ.  In fact, for many sites it’s practically impossible.  She also used link exchanges, forum posting, and other techniques.

Then she talked about when article marketing became popular.  She says Article City was the most popular article directory at the time, even though these days Ezine Articles is pretty much the king of the hill.  She said she kept building her traffic through these techniques until around 2006, when she started with blogs, and she finally moved into social marketing, social bookmarking, video marketing, and more.

The most important point she makes is that you must keep evolving, using all of the latest traffic techniques, and adapting to the newest methods as quickly as you can.  No traffic technique lasts forever, so adapting is crucial.

Website Promotion Video

This video talks about using videos, blogs, social bookmarking, SEO, podcasts, and more to get traffic.  Unfortunately, he mostly talks about video marketing in this particular video.  It is over eight minutes long, so I guess he mostly only had time to cover video in this one.

First, the video talks a little bit about SEO.  The creator talks about how you can get a page ranked pretty quickly using these types of techniques.  He shows some of the types of results you can get by showing examples of his own website’s rankings.

He discusses YouTube, as well as mentioning that there are about 30 other video sites that can help you get on the front page of Google.

He says WordTracker is a great place to find good keywords to use for your SEO.  He uses the free version, and shows a live example.

As he mentions eariler in the video, but doesn’t go into detail about, you can use podcasts, social bookmarking, blogs, and other tools to get rankings, too.  But this video is a good tutorial for the effectiveness of video marketing.

Free Website Traffic Video

Christian is a young internet entrepreneur who is giving some free traffic tips in this video.

First, he talks about some URLs, including:

• Mixx.com
• Reddit.com
• Furlit.com
• Digg.com

These are all social bookmarking sites.  He explains how you can use these social bookmarking sites to post a picture, and then a description.  Those pictures can come up in Google images, which can provide extra traffic.  You can also post videos and stories.

He says you should find an affiliate product, perhaps from ClickBank.com.  He says you can choose a target niche, select a ClickBank product to promote,and promote it using these sites.

He also mentions the importance of staying away from the extremely competitive keywords, because they are too difficult to compete for against major corporations.  He said you should narrow your niches down as much as possible, finding microniches that haven’t yet been tapped fully.

This one is pretty useful for newbies, but I think most seasoned internet marketers would already know this stuff.
